Digital Speech Therapy Materials

Digital Articulation Scene Builder Barrier Games

With these digital articulation scene builder barrier games, your students will enjoy building different scenes while also targeting their goals. This game is fully interactive with movable articulation clipart. The articulation images can be clicked and moved anywhere on the scenes. There is also a scene included for each set that has clipart that matches the theme of the background scene.

These games would also be great for targeting language goals! You could also use them as a barrier game, ie. instead of the student doing the clicking, they could tell you where to put each item. This also means you can target speech at many levels, including conversational! E.g. the student uses their speech sound over and over as they tell you how to build the scene.

You will be able to target so many different goals with these easy to use games! This game is awesome for teletherapy, or use it in traditional sessions on a laptop or smartboard. In teletherapy, if your platform allows mouse controls, the student can be the one to build the image. However, even if they can’t have mouse controls, this game is well suited for the therapist to do the clicking while the student directs them.

Important Information!

Windows Computer Users

There are 2 sets of game files in the downloads below. You can use any of the games in the folder. The most ‘app like’ for you would be the ‘Windows version’. This is a macro-enabled game and requires PowerPoint 2016 or later. However, you can also use the ‘Mac version’ file in PowerPoint or Google slides. The Mac version is more interactive because you can resize the images as well as move them. There is a different tutorial video for each version.

Mac Computer Users

There are 2 sets of game files in the downloads below.  You can use the ‘Mac version’ file in PowerPoint or Google slides. The Mac version is more interactive than the Windows version because you can resize the images as well as move them. There is a different tutorial video for each version.

iPad Users

Using these on a tablet is not recommended. The images are too hard to move on a tablet and it can be frustrating. However, these can be used on a computer, laptop or smartboard during in-person sessions using PowerPoint or Google Slides ( see info above).

Teletherapy Use

To play these games in teletherapy you need to open the game on your computer and then share your screen within your teletherapy platform. Then IF your platform allows it you can share mouse controls so the student can interact with the game. This step is NOT essential, you can still use these in a fun engaging way without giving mouse controls, you can just interact with the game for the student. In this situation I have the student tell me what to choose and when to do certain things in the game. It helps them maintain a sense of control and participation.

WINDOWS USERS: If you are using the Windows version you NEED to make sure you don’t move the game off your main monitor! If you have 2 monitors make sure the game is on your main monitor when in present mode. If you want to be able to move the game off your main monitor then use the Mac version instead, it will work fine for you.
